SHANTI MARCH on Gandhi Jayanti
Poornima Group of Colleges organized a Shanti March on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. More than 4000 Engineering & Management students with staff members of six colleges of PGC took part in this event. The rally started from Poornima Group of Institutions, Biotechnology Park & after around one hour it concluded at Poornima Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) Campus.
Project exhibition 'Prayogam 2k11'
A project exhibition 'Prayogam 2k11' was organized by the students of PGC. In this exhibition future engineers from Poornima Group displayed more than 400 selected engineering and science projects. The students from first to fourth year participated enthusiastically by displaying their projects. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Er. Deepak Sogani. More than 7000 students of fifteen city based schools including Subodh, MPS, Ryan International, Kendriya Vidalaya, Brightland, Defense Public School and Vidhyasthali School visited this exhibition. Project developer engineering students described their projects to school students and presented live demonstration also. With the help of these projects students presented the picture of future scenario and their technical skills.
National Conference on Business Practices
A national conference was organized on Paradigm Shift in Business Practices: Challenges and Perspectives by the Department of Management Studies, PGC on 26 March, 2011. Around 50 papers were presented in this conference on different topics. Dr. Adarsh Kishore, Chairman of Axis Bank was the chief Guest of Inaugural Ceremony and Professor V.S. Vyas, Member of Prime Minister’s economic council was the chief guest of valedictory session. There were four technical session on different sub themes- finance, HR, marketing and entrepreneurship. Dr. Kanta Ahuja, Ex -Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan and MDS University, Dr. I.M. Pandey, head, department of financial studies of Delhi University, Dr. B.R. Sharma, Dr. Ashish Pareek from MDS University, & Dr. Makarand Upadhyay also attend this conference as delegates.
Mentorship Summit at PGC
A Second Annual Mentorship Summit was organized on 27 March, 2011 at Poornima Group of Colleges in association with JIET College Jodhpur. Around 300 mentors of both the colleges took part in this meet. They discussed about their mentorship system and planned their future actions. Hostel mentors presented their different PPT on this occasion; they described about mentorship system and its benefits and working system by their presentations. They told that mentorship system is very beneficial for hostellers. Brain storming, Role Play and Mass Interaction session also held during this event.
Management Fest ‘Gestion- 2011’
Poornima Group of Colleges organized its’ inter college annual management fest ‘Gestion-2011’. Around 500 management students took part from different colleges of city in this fest. Various competitions and interesting activities successfully organized during the fest. All the students enjoyed its all events. After lamp lighting, the fest starts with documentary competition at Arbuda Convention Center. In this competition, students presented ten documentaries. After every presentation, judges asked few questions to documentary makers. Poster making competition was the main attraction of this fest. Students gave their messages through various posters, which were made on different subjects like Save Water, Global Warming, Child Labor were the main subjects of the posters of this competition.
International Conference at Poornima College
A three day International Conference organized by Poornima Group of Colleges on Adaptive Computer Technologies in Various Engineering Applications. It was organized with association of The Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (India), IEEE-MTTS India Council Chapter and Indian Society for Technical Education(ISTE). On first day a workshop held on the latest trends in the field of Microwave, Communication and Computing. K.L. Swami and Subhasis Banerjee training incharges of Sofcon India Pvt Ltd were the main speakers of this workshop. They told about SCADA and PLC technologies to the participants. They also described the requirement of automation in present scenario.

National Conference on Green Chemistry
A national conference on “Role of Green Chemistry for Risk Free Environment” organized at Poornima Group of Institutions in association of Department of Science and Technology, Government of Rajasthan. Around 75 chemistry experts of different engineering and other colleges from all over India participated in this conference. Prof. R. K. Sharma, Department of Chemistry, Delhi University was the Chief Guest. He described the importance of Green Chemistry in the present scenario. Prof. B. S. Garg of Delhi University presented his inviting lecture on “Green Chemistry and Clean Environment”. Other experts presented their papers on different current topics including Green fuel possibilities, Bio inspired product, Green technology, Natural energy sources and Global warming etc.
Alumni Meet at Poornima Group of Colleges
Sixth alumni meet was organized by Poornima Group of Colleges at its Arbuda Convention Center on December, 25, 2010. In this meet around 350 engineering and management alumni members participated. Some ex-staff and faculty members also took part in this event. The programme was organized on Christmas theme. Alumni member visited their college campuses and remembered their college life. After lamp lighting, there were many interesting activities organized like group- solo dance, singing song, skit, short play etc by college students. Few on spot activities were also held on their interest. Annual alumni report was presented by Poornima Alumni Association during this programme. Face to Face Interaction between alumnus and college students were the major attraction of this event.
Annual Tech-Fest "Aarohan Poornima- 2K10"
A state level annual fest 'Aarohan Poornima- 2K10' is successfully organized by PGC. Engineering students of different colleges participated in inter college technical, sports and cultural events, which was organized on the last day of the fest. First six days,intra college competitions were held. Mr. Naveen Mahajan, District Collector was the chief guest for the closing ceremony of the fest. Students showed their technical skills like circuit designing, robot race, LAN gaming and computer programming. Various seminars organized for the different streams of engineering. Students enjoyed group/solo dance performances, skit, singing competitions during cultural session. They show their different roles during fashion show. Roadies, English and Hindi debate were also held in this fest.
Management Day celebration
Annual management day celebrated at Poornima Group of colleges recently on the theme of Indian Management Gurus. Dr. A.D. Sawant, vice chancellor of Rajasthan University was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony of this celebration. At this occasion, he distributed gold, silver medals and certificates to talented management students for their outstanding performance. He also inaugurated the reflection and reminiscences book. During this event, students presented their handmade craft items and collections of coins and some other items in exhibition. A debate held on the topic of 'Democracy breeds corruption'. Students gave their views in favor and against of this topic. Some group/solo dances and skit were also organized on this occasion.
Management Dev. Program for R.F.C. officers
A management Development Program was organized by PGC for the officers of Rajasthan Financial Corporation (RFC). The aim of this program was skill and capabilities development of these officers. Mr. D. R. Mehta, Chairman of Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti was the chief guest of this program. He described different ways of self improvement to officers. IDBI Bank's senior officer Mr. K. C. Jani was the keynote speaker of this program. Mr. Neeraj Gupta, professor of J.J. Business School, Gudgawn, senior management teacher Mr. Makrand Upadhyay and H.R. expert Dr. Ipshita Bansal was also explained management tips to participated officers.
Seminar on light engineering
A seminar organized on Recent Trends in Field of Lighting and Renewable Energy by the first student chapter, ISLE, PGC. Indian Society of Lighting Engineers (ISLE), Rajasthan state center was the sponsor of this seminar. At this occasion, Mr. Gulshan Aghi,Vice-president, ISLE & C.E.O. of Surya Roshni Ltd. was the chief guest of the seminar. He explained recent trends and future of lighting industry. Mr. R. K. Saxena, Chairman, ISLE, Rajasthan state center, Dr. Jyotirmay Mathur of M.N.I.T. was also explained about renewable energy and different types of lighting in this seminar.
Engineers’ Day Celebration
Different inter and intra college competitions were organized on the occasion of Engineers’ Day at Poornima Group of Colleges (PGC). Engineering students enjoyed the whole activities, which were held on the day to even celebrate the birthday of famous Indian engineer Sir M.Visvesvaraya. Events started with Inter College debate Competition on 'Rapid Growth of Professional Education in Rajasthan is blessing for the people of state'. In this competition, around 35 engineering colleges of state participated. After it, there were department level poster competition; the theme of this competition was 'The impending paradigm shift in the engineering science and future challenges'. With the manually prepared posters students showed that human life has become very easy and quick through engineering. There was also held a quiz competition. Dr. S. M. Seth, chairman and Mr. Shashikant Singhi, director of Poornima Group of Colleges gave best wishes for bright future of the students of engineering stream.
Workshop organized by TCS
A two days workshop organized by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) at Poornima College of Engineering. Around 150 students of CS and IT branches of Poornima College of Engineering (PGC) and 75 faculty members of various colleges participated in this workshop, which was organized on "Applications of Information Security and Risk Management". Kuldeep Kumar, Information security manager of industry solution unit, TCS and Rajit Sikka, academic relation manager, north India, TCS were the chief speaker of this workshop. In technical session, Kuldeep Kumar described about network, data and information security to participants. He told that e-mails and web hacking is the biggest challenge of today's scenario. Organizations should make their security policies on the basis of risk and precautions. In HR session, students knew the different policies of organizations.
Campus recruitments by Indian Navy
Indian Navy visited Poornima Group of Colleges for campus recruitment. This drive held for batch 2010 engineering students of PCE and PIET colleges. Around 350 students interviewed in this drive. The result will be declared soon. At this occasion, commander Satish Kumar described the career option and selection process in Navy for the students. He told that it is the service of challenges, status, adventure and quality of life. So Navy wants physically fit and mentally tuff candidates. He told, there are two different schemes for selection, one is UPSE and second is Non-UPSE scheme. There are technical, electrical and educational branches for engineering students in Navy. Commander Satish Kumar said to engineering students that there are not only excellent salary packages in Navy, but also a lot of facilities including personal finance, medical, group insurance and pension. During service period, a person can also continuous their study from IITs and IIMs.
National Conference
Two days National conference was organized by Poornima College of Engineering (PCE) on Advances in Wireless and Optical Communication Technologies. It was organized with the association of Indian Society for Technical Education and IEEE-MTTS India council chapter. The Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers India was the technical supporter of this conference. Mr. Vipin Chandra Sharma, Principal Secretary, Technical Education of Govt. of Rajasthan was the chief guest of Inaugural session of this conference. Experts of different institutions described about wireless communication, artificial neural network, digital signal and image processing, embedded system, power equality and new electronics devices. There were many papers presented by delegates.
Blood Donation Camp
A successful Blood Donation Camp was organized at Poornima Group of Colleges on March 29 with association of Jain Social Group ‘Emerald’ and Rotary Club Jaipur Midtown. Students of PGC and many other colleges actively took part in this camp. Total 820 unit blood was collected in this camp. This camp was held in three venues- PCE, PIET & PGI campuses. Not only boys, but also girls, faculty and staff members donated blood during this camp. The team members of Swasthya Kalyan, SDMH and SMS Hospital Blood Bank helped and promoted students in this camp for donation.
Poornima College received TGMC award
Poornima College of Engineering was selected under top 30 Engineering colleges of India on the basis of The Great Mind Challenge Contest (TGMC) by IBM. The college was also awarded with TGMC award in an Award Ceremony at Bangalore. TGMC is a national level Software Development Contest. Engineering students of this college participated in this contest with their self-made softwares- National Poling System, Virtual Medical Home and Smart City Guide. The company awarded Poornima College on the basis of the quality of these softwares. The college is also a Center of Excellence of IBM.
PIET has received Energy Conservation Award
Poornima Institute of Engineering and Technology received Energy Conservation Award in a state level programme on the occasion of Energy Conservation Day. This programme was organized at OTS by Rajasthan Akshay Urja Nigam and Buro of Energy Efficiency, New Delhi. The Institute received this award in energy forum and club category.
National Conference at Poornima College
Poornima College of Engineering was organized two day national conference on "Recent Developments in engineering mathematics and Information Technology". It was organized in association with The Institute of Engineers ( India ) Rajasthan state center. In this conference more than 250 engineering faculty members participated of various engineering colleges from all over India . Pr. Damodar Sharma, ex. Vice chancellor of Rajasthan Technical University was the Chief Guest of inaugural session. At this occasion he said that mathematics is the base of engineering, so it should be compulsory subject in B. Tech. and M. Tech. also. MNIT's Pr. K. C. Gupta was the guest of this conference.

More then 150 MBA students recently visited various industries of Gurgaon, Bhiwadi, Udaipur and Sirohi. They learned how these industries managed and what are the major management mantras, which were applied in these industries?
PCE the Center of Excellence of IBM
Poornima College of Engineering has been declared the center of excellence by the prestigious IT company - IBM. The college has signed an MOU with the company in this regard. Following the declaration, the IBM will hold training programs in the college from time to time. Besides, software programs and projects will be made available to the college staff and students by the company. The status of the center of excellence will also help student get placements as they will be trained according to industry needs during their study period. The college staff will be kept updated with the latest technologies in the market. For this, college's computer lab will be modified accordingly.
Interactive session with advisory board members of PJ Foundation
PGC organized an interactive session for engineering and management students. During this program PJ foundation's advisory board members interacted with students. Students asked various questions related to different subjects and the experts answered. The experts were: • Padma Bhushan Shri D. R. Students made Robots and learned different types of Robotics
Two day Robotics workshop was organized by Mitbots for the students of Poornima Group of Colleges. During this workshop Mitbot’s experts described about wireless, non wireless, flouting, flying & autonomous robotics. They also organized robo racer & robo shocker competitions. Students also made some robots in the practical session.
DB-2 Workshop by IBM Corporation Ltd.
IBM Corporation Limited organized five day DB-2 workshop and training for 150 engineering students of PCE. The experts of the company described about indexing of DB-2, connecting and index server. They told that there are demands of this technique in software companies. At the end of training, company distributed certificate to the students.
Campus Recruitment by Indian Army and Airforce
Indian Army and Airforce recently organized campus recruitments for the engineering student of PCE & PIET. Around 300 students of these colleges participated in the placement interviews. In a PPT presentation Col. Vikramjeet Gill delivered a lecture on importance of defence services and said that army is a much respected, reputed and responsible job for the nation and after joining it, a person gets higher social status. In the Airforce recruitment Wing Commander Vikram Bakshi described about job opportunities in airforce for students. Students asked questions to both the officers and learnt about adventures of these services.
Workshop at Bio-Inspired Computing
PCE in association with National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training & Research (NITTTR) organized a five day workshop on "Bio Inspired Computing and Its Application" at PCE. This workshop was held in association with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). More than 60 faculty members of various engineering colleges took part in this workshop. The participants understood various aspects of soft computing and their applications in real life through this program. It provided insights on various application areas like – data mining, computer graphics and vision, prediction and diagnosis, design, intelligent control, and traffic and transportation systems. Various senior faculties from IIT, R & D, NITTTR and NIT interacted during the different sessions.
