The retail industry is on the verge of revolution. India is positioned as the leading destination for retail investment. A large number of major players like Reliance, Future, Bharti, Tata, India Bulls, Life Style, Subhiksha, Vishal etc. are gearing up/expanding rapidly. New malls, super markets and departmental stores are coming up in cities/towns.
Career opportunities –
In the fast changing scenario there will be high demand for talented manpower/ professionals in various areas of retail business.
By a conservative assessment, India is expected to employ more than 2.5 million professionals in organized retail.
The experts estimate that in an organized retail store one person is required for every 250-300 sq. ft. space. A single hyper market,
usually covering 2 to 3 lakh sq. ft. area would require around 1000-1200 employees at various levels.

PGDRM –
The one year full time post graduate diploma in retail management aims at preparing students to assume leadership/supervisory roles
in retail industry by enabling them to understand the dynamics of retail management, models and decision making techniques and acquire

Course contents –
The course contents mainly include, among others, fundamentals of management, quantitative methods in retailing, development of soft skills,
services and brand management, store design and merchandising, supply chain management, store operation management and logistics, customer relationship,
retail finance and accounting, managing people in retail set-up, projects and case studies.

Duration of the program –
The one year diploma will have two semesters, six months each, six-day attendance a week, constituting,
in aggregate, 900 hours of contact classes and 300 hours of project work/practical training and visits to
industry/reputed retail stores.

- Tuition fee Rs. 26000/- per semester.
- Examination fee Rs. 2000/- per semester.
Concession of 10% in tuition fee is provided for girl students.
Admission procedure –
Admission will be granted through an entrance test followed by personal interview giving due weightage (40%) to academic career up to graduation level and work experience, if any.
